A large fire occurred this afternoon (July 18th) near Baseline and McQueen in Gilbert. PHOTO: Strong Outflow Moves Through

Strong outflow winds, produced by distant thunderstorms to the east and southeast, moved through the valley this afternoon. Strong gusty winds, to 40+mph were observed with blowing dust reducing visibility. The photo to the right shows the dust moving into the valley.
