A large fire occurred this afternoon (July 18th) near Baseline and McQueen in Gilbert. Strong outflow winds, produced by distant thunderstorms to the east and southeast, moved through the valley this afternoon. Strong gusty winds, to 40+mph were observed with blowing dust reducing visibility. The photo to the right shows the dust moving into the valley.
