Tucson has the wettest July on record

Thunderstorms moved through Tucson this Tuesday afternoon, dropping 1.29" of rain! This brings the monthly rainfall total to 7.08", which breaks the old monthly record for July of 6.80 in 2017.

The Monsoon 2021 total now stands at 7.25". Keep in mind, the average total for the entire monsoon is 5.69"!

Storm chances will continue through the end of July so this total will likely continue to climb.

Oct 1st: Record Heat In Arizona

The high temperature at Phoenix Sky Harbor on Thursday (October 1st) was 107º, which tied the record high for the day last set in 1980. This high also ties as the warmest day ever recorded in October.

Tucson was also hot, with a high of 103º, which broke the record high for the day of 102º set in 2010. This not only broke the daily record, it also broke the record for the hottest temperature ever recorded in Tucson for the month of October. The old record was 102º, set on Ocotber 3, 1993 and October 1, 2010.
